Digipaks typically consist of a 3-4 slide folds (book-style) which either holds a CD or DVD attached inside, however Digipak-style packaging is often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums recently record companies have introduced DVD sections which are now normally found in the 6 panel digipaks this extra addition has allowed audiences to not only listen to the artist but see their debut video or live performances on the DVD. However at first Digipaks were largely used by record companies to promote first time artists in the music industry as this allowed the artists to grow its audience globally, therefore digipaks are seen as an alternative to promote and advertise music.
